A trio of traditional tunes from widely diverse sources; we learned the first tune from our pal Charlie Walden, who (though he lives in Chicago) is the go-to guy for Missouri fiddle tunes. Dolly, aka Stumptown or Stump-tailed Dolly, is present in widely varying versions in both Irish and old-time repertoires. We learned the Irish tune (John) McFadden’s Favorite from a recording by Ruthie Dornfeld and gave it a decidedly Hotpoint treatment.
